Stay safe to stay open
It is very important that you and your family stay healthy. In order for in person school to be successful, we must each take responsibility to help slow the spread of coronavirus and limit our possible exposure. Please refer to the CDC’s information, Help Stop the Spread of COVID-19 in Children. Start using the daily health screener each morning and practice wearing a mask for extended periods of time these next two weeks! Stay safe to stay open!
If you or your child has a new symptom on the checklist, please do not come to school that day! This year, please err on the side of caution when deciding to send your child to school or not. We have invested a lot of time and money in creating policies and a school environment that will help mitigate the spread of germs. I am very confident that all these precautions will serve their purpose. However, not sending a potentially sick child to school will be the biggest influence in remaining open. Thank you for your cooperation!
Lunch: Everyone will need to bring a cold lunch at this time. I highly encourage lunches packed in paper/plastic bags that can be thrown out right after lunch. This will help slow the spread of germs. We will be able to offer a hot lunch program also. However, I am still working out the details. Look for more info to come this week.
New Procedure for Drop Off and Pick Up
Should the school need to move to a hybrid schedule we would like to determine A and B groups by September 1st to ease any possible, abrupt switch. Are there family members, co-workers, neighbors, carpool buddies that you would like to be in the same group with? We are going to have to be flexible, supportive and creative. Should this be necessary, you may want to be in the same group with a family member that attends school here, for example, because you will take turns superving the remote learning at home. Please fill out the short survey with your preferences. We will do the best we can to accommodate your requests. Remember this is to have a plan in place, just in case. This is not a current option.
